Playback modes decide how Clipify chooses the next eligible clip. Filters decide which clips can be chosen, while queues let live controls request specific clips.

Compare playback modes

Mode Selection behavior Availability
Random Selects from eligible clips without a fixed order Free and Pro
Order Follows the selected playlist sequence Pro
Top Prioritizes clips with the highest Twitch views Pro
Smart Shuffle Balances quality, recency, creators, categories, and variety Pro

Clip filters

Essential filters keep unsuitable clips out of normal playback. Pro adds precise rules including minimum and maximum duration, minimum views, blocked title words, creator allowlists and blocklists, category or game filters, and preferences based on the current stream category.

Filters are applied before normal selection and also protect queues where supported. If a requested clip is invalid, unavailable, or excluded, Clipify does not force it into playback.

Moderator and viewer queues

The Moderator Queue contains clips requested by authorized live controls such as moderator chat actions or the Remote Control Panel. The Viewer Queue contains eligible viewer submissions, including configured Twitch Channel Point redemptions.

Queued items are handled ahead of ordinary automatic selection according to the overlay’s queue behavior. Moderator requests have greater control than viewer submissions. Skipping releases the current media before Clipify selects the next valid queued or automatic clip.

Choosing a setup

Use Random for a simple rotating break scene. Use Order for a planned playlist. Use Top to showcase proven highlights. Use Smart Shuffle for longer sessions where variety matters.

If playback feels repetitive, review both the source pool and filters before changing modes. A small eligible set will repeat in every mode.
